We are a family run registered charity who work with our friends in Swaziland to improve the lives of the women and children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Are initial aim is to gain sponsorship for 600 orphans so that they can go to school and gain an education that will give them the skills and qualifications to support themselves as adults.
Through fundraising events and other kind donations we are also able to provide uniforms and shoes for these children so that they do not have to walk to school barefooted and wear second hand uniforms which are often the wrong size and badly torn. By providing these shoes and clothes it also means that the children are not so easily identified as AIDS orphans, which in turn reduces the amount of stigma which is attached to being an AIDS orphan.
We are not a large organisation and so can only reach out to a small number of the children all over the world whose lives are so much harder than they should ever have to be. From our visits to the children that we have supported and the ones that we are yet to gain sponsorship for we know that our sponsors and donors really make a difference to those children we have been able to reach.
Even those who we are still waiting for us to find them sponsorship have a new lease of hope that in the near future they will be able to go to school with the other children. The Children of Swaziland is really making a difference and we invite you to be part of the small but significant impact we can make on the lives of these children.
How we handle your donations
We want every penny that you donate to go directly to the children and women that need our support. We therefore guarantee that this is what happens. The family who founded the Children Of Swaziland cover all administration and additional costs, we feel this is extremely important as much too often the money generously donated is vastly reduced by administration costs and not reaching those it was originally intended to support. This is often necessary in large organisation where staff are paid. The Children Of Swaziland is run by family and friends on a voluntary basis so you can rest assured that ALL of the money that is so generously donated goes directly to where it is needed.
